"On behalf of my whole family this Mother's Day, I want to send my sincere thanks to the staff and management of the Emerald Retirement Residence in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. You all worked well together as a team when necessary during some of the most challenging times recently. Being that there has not been one case of COVID-19 yet on your premises, just goes to show how great your team must be! Thank you for continuing to take such good care of my Mom even during the current COVID-19 c."

"I took a tour. In this facility and let me tell you all that compare to a bunch of place in NIAGARA Falls and surrounding areas this place is by far the nicest cleanest and most welcoming retirement residence I have seen. I myself am a PSW and this is a very very nice place and this place has a lot of great facilities and I'm sure that's due to it being a hotel prior to this and still a wonderful place for your loved ones."

"Ms. Bharucha, My mum Carrie Chambers, came to Emerald Retirement Residence in November 2019. We were told that her move to Emerald would be her last move. If it was her wish, she could die there. This is important to Carrie. You and your staff are holding to that promise. Thank you! Assisted living at Emerald is truly assistance the resident asks for and requires. In my duties as a pastor, I visited retirement homes and care centers in the U.S. where assisted living was a selling point and inaction a misnomer. Despite her memory and mental acuity, Carrie’s body is failing. Her heart is worn out, she has trouble breathing, heightened by lying for most of the day in a hospital bed. She has limited control of her body. Her eye is diminishing. Her legs do not support her. The dentin on her teeth has worn off. Yet you treat her with dignity and care that is personal. She looks forward to each day with you. Thank you! Respectfully,"

"Pat, Thank you for the care you are providing my mom Carrie Chambers. On my recent visit I saw aides getting her up putting her to bed, attending to her needs, and checking on her several times each day without being called. I saw aides respond when she did call. I saw aides tuck and retrieve leftovers from her meals into and from her refrigerator. The nurses providing the puffer, eye drops, and medications were attentive, courteous and personable. Innovative thought like palliative care has enabled her to avoid the dining room at breakfast when she is not yet awake, and at lunch when she is not hungry. Despite conscientious handling the moving and lifting hurts her and leaves bruises. She looks forward to seeing friends at supper. Although she told me time-and-time again that she was not hungry, I noted that when she was served easy to cut meat and soft vegetables she ate everything on her plate. A side benefit of being under palliative care was having Jim Puhl, her nephew, able to visit with her during the months of required self-isolation. His talks kept her interested in the family and in living. His interest in her welfare brought her equipment and supplies that made her life easier. I appreciate you visiting with her. You are a friendly face. You are a link to healthier times. Respectfully,"
