This Saturday, February 13 at 5:00 p.m., staff, residents and guests of Emerald Retirement Residence will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a 3-course dinner served at 5:30, wine and live entertainment by The Lincoln and Welland Ambassadors Swing Band.
The meal
Enjoy a 3-course dinner prepared fresh onsite by our Executive Chef Jesse Hunter. Start with a green salad, followed by Chateaubriand for two. Your thick cut beef tenderloin will be accompanied by sides of roasted vegetables and your choice of potato or risotto. Dinner will be perfectly paired with a glass of wine and completed with a decadent dessert.
The Lincoln and Welland Ambassadors Swing Band
The Lincoln and Welland Ambassadors Swing Bang is a 13-piece band that traces back to the Second World War as an offshoot of the Lincoln & Welland Regiment Band.
Some highlights of the band’s history include playing at Casino Niagara to celebrate the triumphant return of Niagara Falls native James Cameron, director of the film Titanic, the opening of the St. Catharines YMCA, the Hotel Dieu and White Oaks resort.
The band’s best known for its renditions of Big Band Era tunes, including ballads, foxtrots, swing, waltzes, polka, Latin rhythms and some rock numbers. Programs are carefully crafted to maximize the audience’s enjoyment.
